Massage Services
Prenatal & Postpartum Massage Therapy
Massage can be performed safely at any stage of pregnancy, from early on to beyond your due date. Services are typically 60 or 90 min. All prenatal massage is performed in the side-lying position. High risk pregnancies require a note from your OB/Midwife.
Postpartum massage can begin whenever mom feels ready. Vaginal births are generally 1-2 weeks post birth; C-Sections typically 4-6 weeks post birth. Massage may be face down or side-lying depending on the mom, breast tenderness and/or tummy soreness.
Moms ARE allowed to bring in their babies with them to their massage within the first year. Ideally, it is best to leave baby with a care provider so mom can focus on rest. However, as family is sometimes out of town, mom does not have to go without. Babies will typically sleep in the carrier, we can put a blanket down for some tummy time or moms can hold their babies and nurse throughout the massage.
Prepare for Birth Massage
Using a collection of therapies, induction massage is performed at a minimum of 39 weeks, with approval from OB/midwife. This service incorporates guided imagery, essential oils, pressure points and massage to help get things rolling. 60 min.
